As a gay-identifying wedding artist, I know how important it is to feel safe, celebrated, and truly seen during one of the most intimate days of your life. That’s why I always aim to be more than just a vendor—I’m someone you can trust to bring warmth, joy, and intentionality into every detail. Amanda and Jessica’s wedding on November 11, 2023, at the Lake Nona Wave Hotel in Orlando was a beautiful reminder of exactly why I do what I do. It was a modern, candlelit celebration filled with intentional calligraphy touches and an energy that radiated love and trust from start to finish.

If you're a couple searching for LGBTQ+ friendly calligraphy and engraving vendors, know this—I'm here, I'm queer, and I absolutely love creating meaningful day-of details that reflect your love story.

Modern Elegance with a Queer Love Story at the Center

Amanda and Jessica were my very first lesbian couple, and from the very first call, I could tell they were something special. They told me they were being intentional with all of their vendor choices, and it meant so much when they said they wanted someone who was LGBTQ+ affirming and friendly. And—surprise—I checked that box with a big ol’ rainbow bowtie.

I mainly worked with Jessica, who had such a strong, beautiful vision for their day: modern, sleek, and elegant. The color palette was a stunning mix of white, black, and gold, with candles absolutely everywhere. Their tablescapes were full of dimension with different gold candle holders, gold rim chargers, and even tuxedo-folded napkins with menus tucked in that were ridiculously cute.

For their wedding calligraphy, I created personalized place cards with different colored ribbons to signify meal choices. Jessica felt like something was missing from the cards, and when I suggested adding gold-leafed edges, she was instantly sold. That kind of collaboration—where the couple trusts my suggestions as a creative—is so special to me. It’s not just about pretty signage; it’s about being a part of someone’s love story in a way that’s heartfelt and personal.

A Showstopping Seating Chart (And a Whole Lot of Trust)

Jessica also wanted something extravagant and modern for the seating chart, and I had just the idea. I’d been dreaming of working with acrylic cubes and candlelight but hadn’t yet pitched it to anyone. So I told her my idea—no samples—just a vision. And she trusted me.

We brought the concept to life with clear acrylic blocks arranged at varying heights, candles glowing within and around them, and beautifully hand-lettered names that turned the whole thing into a modern art installation. Seeing their faces light up when they saw it in person? That’s the good stuff.

It meant the world to know they trusted me fully—not just with the art, but with their experience.

Personalized Details with Live Calligraphy & Engraving

While I no longer offer large signage installs or rental pieces, I still love creating intentional, meaningful day-of calligraphy for couples who want something a little more personal and a lot more them. I offer items such as place cards and escort cards as an add-on to my live calligraphy and engraving services—so while I may not bring a giant seating chart, I will bring the energy, craftsmanship, and creativity your celebration deserves.

Think of it like this: these aren’t just signs or tags—they’re elevated details that tell your story, right down to the texture of the ribbon or the swirl of ink on handmade paper. When I personalize a favor or place card live, it’s not just about the item—it’s about the experience of watching it come to life in real time, with your guests feeling seen and celebrated.

Whether it's engraved fragrance bottles, calligraphy place cards, custom hot foiled menus, or live engraving on-site, my goal is always the same: to create pieces that feel special, look beautiful, and leave a lasting impression.

Here’s what intentional details like these can add to your wedding day:

  • Personalization that matters – A guest’s name engraved on a gift or hand-lettered at their seat instantly makes them feel more connected and appreciated.

  • Elevated guest experience – Live art adds entertainment and luxury without being over-the-top. It’s interactive, exciting, and meaningful.

  • Photo-worthy moments – Custom calligraphy and engraving pieces often become keepsakes and part of the visual story of your day.

  • Inclusivity through thoughtfulness – Guests notice the small things, and inclusive, personalized details help everyone feel safe, welcome, and celebrated.

  • A chance to reflect your vibe – Whether you're going for modern elegance, moody romance, or full-on disco glam, I can customize every detail to match your aesthetic.

So if you’re searching for an LGBTQ+ friendly calligrapher and engraver in Orlando, Portland, or anywhere in between, I’d love to help bring those personal touches to your wedding or event. Let’s create something that feels like you—artful, warm, and unforgettable.
