Personalized Signature Drink Signs: Adding Your Furry Friends to the Mix

As a fellow dog owner and lover, I HIGHLY recommend personalizing your drink signage with your fur babies. With the weddings trending to be more personalized, this is an easy and perfect way to incorporate our fuzzy friends into the details of the big day!

The popularity of personalized drink signs at weddings, parties, and events continues to grow tremendously! So today, I’ll be talking about WHY you need this for your life and how to work with artists to create the PAW-fect signature drink and/or bar signage.

Why Include Your Furry Friends?

Emotional Connection

The special bond between pet owners and their pets can never be replaced. Just as your love story is one-of-a kind, so is this bond. If you’re a dog owner reading this, I’m sure you can relate to those long days of stress, annoyances, and ‘adulting’ that make you want to cry. And there, sitting at your feet, looking up at you, is your dog. You go in for a pet and a kiss, and the world is just a little bit better.

I mean, pets are considered family members—at least to me and all of my friends with pets. Unfortunately, with so many people around on wedding days, and the hassle of having to worry about them on the day of, most pet owners are unable to have them present. But if you’re still wanting their face there since they are still family—cough, cough—here’s your answer!

Unique Personalization

Including your pets on your signage adds a unique and personal touch to the event. Just as you are the only you on this planet, the same applies to them. When you work with an artist, they will create design elements that are one-of-a-kind and not jsut a stock image of a generic golden retriever.

In addition to just being unique, I can assure you that seeing a dog’s cute face on a napkin or a sign will make guests smile. Imagine all the adorable and creative drink names we can come up with together!

Designing Your Pet-Inspired Drink Signs

Pet Photos and Descriptions

I always ask for a variety of photos in order to capture all the details of your doggo. Make sure that I have at least one photo that is forward facing and full bodied. In addition, I ask for the following information:

  • Any significant and distinguishing features

  • Breed of dog

  • True color description—this is so I can color match their fur and other details as accurate as possible without having to rely solely on a photo.

Creative Drink Names

If you don’t have a creative brain, no worries! That’s why you’re hiring me to help brainstorm fun and clever drink names inspired by your pet! And if nothing truly works, you can always default to having the bar named after them (e.g. Riley’s Bar).

Here are some examples and ideas to spark creativity:

  • Felicia, cat + Old Fashioned = Old Felicia’d

  • Moxie, dog + Moscow Mule = Moxie Mule

  • Riley, dog + Long Island Iced Tea = Long Ry-land Iced Tea

  • Greta, dog + Shirley Temple = Greta-dine Cocktail

Collaborating with Designers

Because we’re incorporating such unique elements, it’s important that you’re still taking into consideration the overall event theme. By working with a designer/artist, we can ensure that all of the design elements still work in harmony with all the rest of your wedding signage and stationery!

It’s truly a collaborative process—getting to know about your pet, your style, and your overall preferences and ideas. When I design with my couples, I think long-term. I create these pieces so that they stand the test of time and with the intent of you being able to display these signs as artwork in your home following the wedding.
